About this mod

a quick port of one of the rapiers from my Oblivion mod to Fallout 3

Ivory Hilted Rapier, by throttlekitty
a mod for Fallout 3, by Bethesda Softworks
#####################################################

This modification adds a rapier to the game, and has cloned stats of the
Chinese Officers Sword. The sword cannot be purchased or found yet, so a
console command is needed to 'cheat' it into your inventory. Also, this
is an experimental 'first-run' mod, and was created largely in a hex
editor, and as such, there are minor problems. (A Construction Set isn't
available yet, and NifSkope isn't yet mature enough to fully handle writing
files properly for the Fallout3 version.)

And yes, I ported a sword I did for Oblivion for this test. :)

Version History
#####################################################
v0.8 - Nov.1.2008 - Initial release.

#####################################################
Installation
#####################################################

* Unpack the contents of this .7z archive directly to your Fallout3\Data folder.
Typically, this will be found under c:\program files\bethesda softworks\

* From the FO3 Launcher, go to 'Data Files' and place a check next to
IvoryHiltedRapier.esp.

* Open your Fallout3.ini and edit this line found under [ARCHIVE]:
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 (default is 0, so change it to a 1)

* Once you've loaded your character up in the game, hit the Tilde key (~)
to bring up the console. Here, type the command:

player.additem 01025b5b 1
And the item is in your inventory. Due to the way the formID system works,
this number will change somewhat if you have other mods loaded.
0x025b5b, where x is the position in the mod load order.

#####################################################
Known bugs and Issues
#####################################################

* No sound effect when swinging. Not sure why, so pretend you're a ninja
who swashbuckles.
* "Strikezone" seems offset.
* Blood splats may appear incorrectly.
* May receive incorrect lighting under many conditions. :(

* In one case during testing, the game did not pick up the load order properly.
If you are sure you typed the additem command correctly and still get an error,
your modlist will need to be edited manually. This is located in:
x:\documents and settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Fallout 3\plugins.txt
Ensure that IvoryHiltedRapier.esp loads after (underneath) Fallout3.esm
