VERSION 1.2 NOW AVAILABLE!

Wow! Hot files listing! Thanks a lot guys! I never expected this mod to be so popular!

I suggest you keep a backup save from before you install this mod to revert to if/when you decide to uninstall this mod in the future. Your save won't (shouldn't) be broken, but any weapons that were spawned by this mod will cease to exist when you uninstall, leading to some NPCs having no weapons.

This mod is featured in my new Fallout 3 Let's Play series on Youtube. Click here to watch!

ABOUT
DDD Rifles adds 7 new balanced and very lore-friendly weapons with custom models, textures and sounds to the game and it's levelled lists.

The weapons are essentially variations of some vanilla weapons, with unique characteristics. Please see the next section for details.

All weapons use new models, new sounds, with custom textures made/edited by myself to ensure they look "right" in the world of Fallout 3.

The weapons are fully integrated into the levelled lists with their respective ammo so that they fit seamlessly into the game alongside vanilla Fallout 3 weapons.

REGARDING GAME BALANCE
I have tried my absolute best to ensure these new weapons are not game-breaking, and not underpowered. That said, you may find certain weapons feeling somewhat overpowered or underpowered in some circumstances - this is purely intentional. Take for example the Carbine. In testing it has shown to be utterly devastating at point-blank range, but at about 5 to 10 metres it's effectiveness drops quite drastically to the point where it becomes essentially useless beyond a certain distance... In reality a carbine is primarily a CQB weapon (according to things I have read - proud INTERNETS soldier here :P), and my carbine's behaviour was intended to reflect this fact.

I would very much appreciate feedback regarding weapon balance though. Please tell me if something is not quite right as I am using this mod in my own game and would like it to be balanced for my own experiences too!

REGARDING COMPATIBILITY
Users of Weapon Mod Kits will need to download the WMK Compatibility Patch available in the Optional Files section. This is because of a conflict that was introduced by my Super Mutant fix in v1.2.

Sadly, this mod may not be compatible with other mods that alter/use the level lists for assault rifles, Chinese assault rifles and/or sniper rifles. I pretty much had to remake the entire levelling system for these weapons due to the fact that some of my new weapons use a different ammo type. I am sorry, but it's what had to be done :(

There may also be a possible conflict with mods that alter/use the repair forms.

This is mod should be fully compatible (I hope!) with all the DLCs aside from Mothership Zeta... or whatever they call it. I do not own that one, so I cannot say either way.

KNOWN BUGS
In your Pip-boy, the damage values displayed there are not fully accurate to the weapons' respective true effectiveness. Don't pay too much attention to the numbers you see there as Fallout 3 seems to use some bizarre logic to calculate damage values in the inventory...

The Chinese Special Sniper does not have any scope recoil like other sniper/scoped weapons. I have no idea how to correct this, or if it is even possible to correct it. To be fair, it does not seem to affect gameplay too much due to the weapon's nature.

I am sure there are bound to be other problems which I don't know about, so please be sure to let me know if you encounter any!

PERMISSIONS
If you wish to use anything in the mod, other than the plugin file, I am not able to give you permission. You will have to obtain permission from the original creators of the assets (at the time of writing, permission is given by default so to speak, but that could of course change one day - and you should always respect their wishes in regards to this).

Although, I will give you permission to use my edited textures providing that you credit both myself AND the original creators.

If you wish to use the plugin file or create a patch, etc., please only upload your new/edited plugin file and redirect your users to download the rest of the mod here.

If you do use something I made, I ask you to provide a link to my original upload somewhere on your mod page, and I would also like you to tell me about your upload.

I would like to make it absolutely clear that I DO NOT, repeat I DO NOT want to ever see this hosted on another site. Don't even ask me permission to host it elsewhere. I assure you, I have my reasons for this!
