About this mod

Orthoscopic Rendered Worldspace Image Composite. This is a modder\'s aid and NOT an in game map for players.

Permissions and credits
Orthoscopic Rendered Worldspace Image Composite or ORWIC is a 16kx16k composite image of the vanilla worldspace in PSD format. With all layers turned invisible it's 750mb and that is with no overlays of any kind. I have been unable to render this image in JPG format at this size so obviously that file will not see the light of day.

Since the GECK doesn't do local maps like the CS did I had to find another way and after messing with the render window hot keys for two days I finally found what I was looking for, orthoscopic view. With this (and Fraps) I have been able to capture 800x800 9 cell chunks. Compile all 400+ of them together and we got us a composite in ultra high res.

In this initial capture all markers, portals and vertibirds are hidden but spawns,FX and force fields remain.

Installing and Creating Layers

Working with the Photoshop format we can create and share a plethora of layers. I would like to see

Installing

When installing one of my layers drag it from the layers list rather than the image itself so that it retains it's info and color designation. Next zoom in close to any one of the four corners and align the single pixel border with the edge of the image on both sides and it's perfectly set.

Creating

When making a layer based on the ORWIC25%PSD be sure to put a single pixel border around the image so it can be snapped in with ease.

Render Window W=820
Render Window H=822

If you use these settings in your GECKprefs.ini (My Documents/My Games/Fallout3) and capture with Fraps the resulting capture is 800x778.
Toggle the orthoscopic view on the render window with 0(zero) and the cell border with B.
Zoom the render window until 9 cells are visible and the doted yellow line is just visible all the way around.
Make your capture and before importing reduce the image by 50% and it's ready to import to the PSD.
With the cell grid visible and on top placing your piece is as easy as making all the yellow doted lines line up under the grid lines.

Zoomable Resolutions. JPG

These images are of a high enough resolution that zooming them is not horrendous.
The 25% zoomed to 200% is comparable to the 6.25% zoomed at 400% Compare.

Use Of These Composite Renders

Feel free to use these anyway you see fit but please give credit where credit is due.

If anyone has any ideas as to what information might be useful please share them. BGSF Thread
