A new player house in Megaton.

The house starts out living up to the words of Lucas Simms... "It ain't much to look at, but talk to Moira at Craterside supply - she's got some random odds and ends you might be able to use to spruce the place up with."

Indeed. You start out with an abandoned and rubble-filled shithole, with nothing but a scrap of cardboard to sleep on. As you start spending your caps on upgrades at Craterside supply, you will eventually have a cosy, well organised, and fully functional little shithole. :) See the photos section on the Nexus site for more.

Based on TheNonsenseFactory's (EXCELLENT!) Small Megaton Shack, but with the added fun of themes and upgrades. You get the key for this shack in the normal way, and will not have access to the original Megaton Player Home. Your little shack is located on the roof of the Brass Lantern, right near the main entrance stairs in Megaton.

PURCHASES AT CRATERSIDE SUPPLY

I haven't yet properly changed the scripting when talking to Moira about your house.
I am just learning, this will come as soon as I have the skill.
For now, please FOLLOW THE DIALOGUE TEXT when buying from Moira. Her original spoken dialogue is still there and doesn't match.
READ and FOLLOW MOIRA'S TEXT DIALOGUE, and you'll be good to go!

Here are the things to buy from her, and what they mean in your shack:

Pre War Theme = "Renovate / Buy furniture" This should be your first purchase. It cleans out all the garbage and gets you the basic furniture.

Laboratory = "Plumbing Repairs". This will replace the broken sink with a functional one, and stop that irritating water leak. Moira will also apply an antifungal spray around the baseboards to prevent any further mushroom growth or rotting of the floorboards at no additional charge.

Infirmary = Normal functionality like in the regular house.

Nuka Machine = Normal functionality like in the regular house.

Workbench = Normal Functionality like in the regular house.

Jukebox = TV and Radio. For sure get the "Renovate / Furniture" theme first, or these items will be floating in mid-air on your non-existent shelves. :)

Requirements:

Fallout 3 Patch 1.7

===============
Install / Uninstall:
===============

Download, install, and learn to use the excellent Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM).

Compatibility:

This changes the area around the original player house and near the Brass Lantern in Megaton. It will likely conflict with other mods messing with that same worldspace.
Other than that there should be no problems.

Bugs/Issues:
===============

Guys, this is my very first mod and I am eager to learn. I think it is all working OK, but please PLEASE tell me if you spot any bugs, or have any suggestions to make this mod smoother, cleaner, better.

TO DO / PLANS

1. Get the purchasing dialogue at Moira's to properly reflect your actual house. Anyone interested in helping out or advising about this, I would really appreciate it! Once this is done, and any other reported bugs / issues are dealt with, this mod will be 1.0 complete and out of beta.
2. I intend to add in some of the functionality of the "Megaton House Trophies" mod from Smokindan. (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2348)
3. I'd like to add in one more theme / upgrade for some better quality furnishings and fittings.
4. Remove the now unneeded original player house, and replace it with something more interesting and useful.
5. Assimilate other cool ideas from other Megaton mods, to create the ultimate "Megaton Upgrade" mod.

I'd like to give huge props to the person who inspired me to finally try modding, and whose work this mod is based on:
TheNonsenseFactory and his EXCELLENT "Small Megaton Shack" mod. Everything here is starting from that mod as the base, and I have learned almost everything as I went by copying or modifying his original work. (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11683)

Thanks to summel for the invisibleseat nif, taken from busworld (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4736)

Thanks also to the Nexus community in general for providing all of this excellent free stuff and advice!
