FORT BANNISTER
The TSC began the siege of Fort Bannister early this morning, pulling Delta Company of the 4th Infantry Battalion and its artillery away from the front lines against the Brotherhood for this battle. The fighting did not begin immediately, however, as Josephus, the former Talon captain who opted to cooperate with the TSC, attempted to negotiate a surrender of the fort. To guarantee his safety, a pair of Valkyries were dispatched to cover him in case he needed to flee and to flee he did. Castigating him as a traitor, the Talon captain present at the surface of the fort ordered his men to fire on him. The Valkyries promptly returned fire and Delta Company began launching artillery at the fort.
Though some mercenaries were killed, most of them scrambled into the bunker and out of harm's way. Regardless, the artillery guns of Delta Company continued pouring fire on the fort, making sure none of them would think of coming out. The final decision of how to proceed from there, however, had not yet been made due to the dilemma in place. Intelligence provided by Josephus indicated that Fort Bannister held months of food and water, making for a siege that would last for that period of time. While starving them out could result in fewer TSC casualties, the Brotherhood's goal of tying up TSC resources in their very heartland would be accomplished. If the TSC made an assault, it was anticipated that very high casualties would result, meaning that men who fell fighting Talon Company would not be available to fight the Brotherhood. At this time, the Commander, present for the battle, has not yet decided on a course of action, or at least decided to keep quiet about it to the Olympus Circular for the time being.
