TSC Marines of the 4th and 5th Platoons of Bravo Company launched a mop-up operation on Talon and Super Mutant forces in Seward Square this morning, following aerial assault of the area by the Valkyries of the TSC Air Force. To the relief of TSC forces, they faced significantly less resistance in Seward Square than they did in the Capitol, with a half dozen mercenaries surrendering to the Marines. The only bits of excitement were the presence of a Talon sniper parked on the sky bridge and an Enclave vertibird appearing near the Ranger compound. Though the sniper wounded one Marine in the leg, he was taken out by Sergeant Melissa Kennedy, a recipient of the Expert Marksmanship Badge, who shot him in the nose. The latter was of greater concern to the point of causing momentary panic among the Marines. It was to great cheers when a Valkyrie zoomed up behind the vertibird and fired on it, destroying the tail, resulting in the vertibird spinning out and crashing.
At the end of the day, TSC forces suffered only two wounded, with the Marine hit by the sniper requiring a stay in the Olympus medical bay for a blood transfusion from the blood lost by a severed femoral artery.
